Special District Fairness and Accessibility Act  has been introduced

ASDA is pleased to share that the Special District Fairness and Accessibility Act has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives.

This is the reincarnation of bipartisan legislation that would federally define “special district,” require the Office of Management and Budget to direct federal agencies to adopt the term, and set special districts on a path toward a more level playing field for access federal programs (funding and projects).

Congressman Pat Fallon, R-Texas, is leading the bill, with Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen, D-Colo., as co-lead.

  • Click here for bill text. The bill number is H.R. 2766.
  • Click here for a confusing press release from Fallon’s office that titles the bill as “Special District Fairness Act.” Note, the bill text as included includes the short title of Special District Fairness and Accessibility Act. I have confirmed with Congressman Fallon’s office that the name of the bill does indeed include “Accessibility” in the title.
