Scheduled ADEQ VIRTUAL MEETING | Updated AWQS and Baseline Monitoring Requirements
ADEQ will implement new and adjusted Aquifer Water Quality Standards (AWQS) and an associated implementation rule.
These updates help protect Arizona’s groundwater and align regulatory requirements with current science and best practices.
We invite you to join an upcoming webinar to learn about the rule and what it means for your permit.
The webinar will cover:
- Baseline Monitoring requirements
- Individual APP Permit Amendment Schedule and phases
- Associated Notices of Final Rulemaking (NFRM)
What’s New
These updates include seven new or adjusted AWQSs for the following parameters: arsenic, bromate, chlorite, microbiological contaminants, haloacetic acids, total trihalomethanes, and uranium.
The new or adjusted standards and an implementation rule will take effect on August 4, 2025. In most cases, Individual APP permit holders are required to start new Baseline Monitoring by November 4, 2025.
Please feel free to forward this invitation to others who may be interested.
